iTrain Asia is a Mobile Development Training Certification Body that provides iOS, Android and HTML5 certifications, course materials and also trainings via our channel partners. Our certifications are currently being rolled out to Individuals, Corporates and also Universities throughout South East Asia. We have trained and certified more than 1,000 iOS Developers in the region, particularly in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.
It all started during the launch of the iPhone. We knew we wanted to partake in the iOS app ecosystem and following that the Android ecosystem. We started smaller workshops introducing mobile development on these 2 platforms and eventually took it to the neighbouring countries.
iTrain was then privileged to be the first Google Web Academy in the world to deliver the Online Professional, Cloud and HTML5 certifications in South East Asia. Today we have over 30 universities in Malaysia running these programmes via our Train the Trainer session to ensure students are exposed to these technologies upon graduation.
As a sign of recognition and authority on the subject, iTrain was appointed by the Malaysian government as the exclusive iOS training and certification provider for universities under the MyUniAlliance programme and the public under the MyProCert programme.
iTrain was also announced as the Official iOS Partner for the MSC Malaysia Knowledge Workers Development Centre Awarded By Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation YB Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili
iTrain has also enter into an MoU with ASOSIASI PERGURUAN TINGGI INFORMATIKA DAN KOMPUTER (APTIKOM) (Association of IT Lecturers of Higher Learning) in Indonesia to provide Android and iOS certification to more than 400 universities under its association.
The mentioned certification is also now in the process of being endorsed by the Ministry of Higher Education to be an accredited programme within Indonesian Universities.
To date, iTrain has trained and certified lecturers and students of more than 50 universities and colleges in Malaysia. In order to continuosly support the Mobile Developer eco-system, iTrain has constantly hosted, supported and run various mobile app communities and events.
A dedicated community event space (iTrain Developer Playground) for Mobile Developers was also built in Kuala Lumpur. This is where most user group meetups and hackathons were held.
In means to expand the rise of mobility within the SEA region, we started organizing a signature event called Mobile Developer Day. The conference is a means to educate aspiring mobile developers on the market share and trends on the major mobile platforms along with a technical deep dive into getting started on these platforms. The recent conferences have even expanded into UX and Wearable topics.
With the rise of app developers working on amazing ideas in Malaysia and the region, we aimed to take things to another level, we setup a new division called 1337 Ventures (1337 pronounced as leet). Under this new division we launched a mobile developer only co-working space called the 1337 Hub and the 1337 Accelerator which provides mobile app startups a seed fund up to RM 100,000 along with mentorship to get their apps to market. To date we have invested into 16 startups and have had companies grow from RM50,000 investments to raising USD600,000 in investments within 6 months.
